Editorial Intern

This role is perfect for a smart, motivated, detail-oriented candidate looking to gain experience in a high-growth start-up. You’ll work directly with the editorial team to ensure everything we publish is easy to understand and has a consistent tone

London · 3 months (with potential for a full-time offer)

As an editorial intern, you’ll work closely with our editorial team, analysts, and audio producers to make sure everything we publish has a consistent tone of voice, is easy to understand, and is conversational.

You’ll also get involved with the processes that allow our team to produce world-class content each and every day, and do work that involves our engineering, sales, and community teams. Your contributions in the role will focus on the content team, but there’s potential for you to get involved in projects across the company as long as you’re motivated to learn. This role has the potential to lead to a full-time position.

Please note, Finimize HQ is based in London and we are operating a hybrid model of remote and office work. The ideal candidate, therefore, is UK based with regular access to London.

💪 Responsibilities:

  • Source and draft supplementary content that is included in the Daily Newsletter
  • Support editors in producing the Daily and Premium Newsletters
  • Support analysts, editors, audio producers in publishing app content
  • Content performance data collection
  • Research trending finance and investing topics to inform editorial decisions
  • Support SEO optimization strategies

Some things we consider critical to being our Editorial Intern:

  • Some experience working closely with words, especially on short-form content
  • An attention to detail that helps in proofreading
  • A flexibility and humility about the rules of language
  • A willingness to take on a lot of work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to the news flow
  • The ability to operate with and keep to tight deadlines
  • The flexibility and intellectual curiosity to get involved in other elements of the content team’s work as required, and in projects across the rest of the company
  • The ability to be brief without being curt, smart without being pompous, witty without being cringy
  • Excellent communication skills with a mindset for collaboration
  • The right to live and work in the UK
